Damian wants a meeting with his father. His friends' willingness to join him in trouble offers another kind of attention: company that arrives without a request.

A meeting becomes an opportunity

The official episode 25 synopsis gives his wish a concrete form. During Eden's gathering for distinguished students and their parents, Damian asks his brother to pass on his desire to see their father. Loid learns about the meeting and intends to use it to contact his target.

The same appointment carries different stakes for the child and the spy. Damian wants access to a parent; Loid sees access to a political figure. The boy's hope becomes useful to an adult whose purpose he does not share.

That does not establish what Donovan feels, or whether any particular result at school would secure affection. It establishes a gap between seeking attention and controlling its arrival. A request can make a wish known while the response remains somebody else's decision.

Company in an unflattering moment

The official episode 27 synopsis supplies a different social exchange. Damian must help the dormitory matron as punishment for oversleeping. Emile and Ewen deliberately get punished too because they will not leave him alone; Henderson then sends the boys on an outdoor activity.

The friends choose his company at a moment that supplies no academic distinction. Their decision changes what the punishment means socially: a task that could isolate him becomes something shared. It does not erase his mistake, but it refuses to make a mistake the condition for abandoning him.

Recognition has several forms

The contrast should not become a claim that friendship can replace every parental relationship. The schoolmates offer something specific: presence when he has failed to meet a standard. That support can matter even while the wish to see his father remains unresolved.

The two episodes put him between attention he has to request and company that others actively choose to provide. Becky's friendship with Anya offers a related distinction between what social status can arrange and what another person's presence contributes.
