Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is complete in English in 28 numbered VIZ paperbacks, Volume 1 through Volume 28. Buy them in number order. VIZ's manga listing shows those 28 volumes and nothing else under the series: no box set, omnibus or larger-format edition to choose between.

The first and last books

BookISBN-13ReleasePagesUS list price
Vol. 19781974700301March 6, 2018216$9.99
Vol. 289781974743421April 2, 2024224$11.99

VIZ lists the series under its Shonen Jump imprint at a 5 × 7½-inch trim, with story and art by Aka Akasaka. Volume 1's description sets up the premise in a sentence: two student council leaders who have fallen for each other and have too much pride to admit it. If that is the joke you want, one volume is enough to find out whether its repetition works for you.

What the full run costs

Most volumes list at $9.99; seven, Volumes 2 to 5, 7, 8 and the final volume, list at $11.99. The publisher list prices recorded in our Kaguya-sama catalog on October 12, 2026 add up to $293.72 for all 28 books, about 5,980 pages. That is a sum of dated list prices, not a retailer offer. Stores discount, and VIZ's product pages note that actual prices may vary.

Gaps and used lots

Because every volume is a single numbered book, a partial shelf is easy to complete. Write down the numbers you own and buy the gaps. A used lot advertised as "Kaguya-sama manga" says nothing about which numbers it contains, so ask for the list before comparing price per book. Duplicates add nothing to story coverage.

When matching a listing, compare the ISBN with the format you want. VIZ's product pages carry the paperback ISBN; a digital edition is a different purchase.

Starting from the anime

We have not established a chapter where the anime stops, so this guide does not recommend jumping in at a later volume. One fact argues for reading the manga's last volumes regardless: the anime's announced conclusion is based on a newly written original story draft by Akasaka, according to the official anime site. The 28 volumes are the complete serialized story, and the anime's ending may not match it. The watch order covers the anime side.

Read before you buy

Our Volume 1 page and Volume 28 page describe the opening and closing books from VIZ's own premises. For the characters, try our reading of the opening chapters or the study of Ai Hayasaka. For general advice on completed series, see the completed manga collecting guide.
