Battle Angel Alita Paperback 6 concludes Kodansha’s six-book paperback edition of the original series. It is the continuation after Paperback 5, with the ending still ahead, rather than the separate companion volume supplied with the Deluxe box. The spoiler note considers the publisher’s account of Alita confronting replicas of herself. It does not disclose the confrontation’s result or identify which version of the original series’ ending this paperback contains.

Zalem treats Alita as a model worth reproducing and a person its reproductions must destroy. The replicas are intended to suppress the Barjack Rebellion; killing the original is their final test. That is the specific cruelty in the publisher’s final-volume premise. Her usefulness survives in the copies while her survival becomes an obstacle to proving their usefulness. Reading this as a contest over which fighter is strongest would miss the test’s design: the system has already assigned the original the role of something to eliminate. This is an interpretation of the stated purpose of the replicas, not a claim that they succeed or that Alita accepts that judgment. The description supplies the terms under which she is attacked. It does not establish that those terms determine her worth.
