Black Clover 4 opens during the attack on the capital, with civilians depending on the Magic Knights. The printed contents identifies manga installments 26–34, labeled Page in this edition; those labels are chapter numbers, not folios. The opening analysis follows the defenders’ public role and their different attitudes toward the people around them. It uses the limited licensed preview, without supplying the attack’s result or an anime continuation point. This is the numbered VIZ paperback, continuing after Volume 3.

The capital’s civilians welcome the Magic Knights as rescuers, but the opening gives that shared office several competing voices. Nozel directs citizens behind the defenders, then frames his own attack as punishment for threatening the country’s people. Those acts support the public confidence shown around him. Elsewhere, Leopold’s attack on the enemy comes with a dismissive remark about Asta’s lack of magic, even after Asta has rescued Noelle. A defender invites the injured to approach, while others describe the enemies through disgust or the pleasure of fighting. Protection can coexist with hierarchy and vanity. The argument is about the work these different motives produce, rather than a claim that rank makes every knight either noble or useless. This reading is bounded to the licensed preview’s opening pages 7–19, within manga installment 26. It does not establish the battle’s outcome or turn every insult into a judgment shared by the whole order.
