Black Clover’s eighth book changes the terms of the underwater temple contest. Its inspected contents list chapters 63 to 71, beginning with a game whose participants are now facing Vetto’s lethal intrusion. This note reads only printed pages 7 to 19 of VIZ’s licensed preview. The opening shows the temple’s strongest fighter struggling and Yami prevented from reaching the others; it does not establish the fight’s eventual winner or describe later transformations from their chapter titles.

The temple’s fighters had treated the contest as a test of their own strength. Vetto treats their attacks as entertainment and promises despair instead of a sporting defeat. Gio answers with his strongest water spell, but the exchange leaves his father watching a level of power his confidence did not anticipate. Yami tries to intervene and discovers that the game’s magic still prevents him from leaving; when he attempts to cut his way out, spatial magic closes a further barrier around him. Those rules now protect the intruders’ freedom to hurt people rather than the temple’s control over its contest. Vetto’s plan to break Yami through his friends’ deaths is a threat, not an inspected outcome. The opening’s turn rests in that changed purpose of the enclosure: strong allies can be present and still be prevented from helping.
