Blue Lock's contest with Japan's youth team continues after Shidou gives the opposition the initiative. The second half has become a problem of responding to a disruptive striker without surrendering control of the match. This volume belongs inside the ongoing game, with the opening and earlier reversals already read. Its appeal lies in the competing demands placed on a side full of players who each want to become the decisive answer.

Ego answers Shidou by sending Barou onto the field, but the remedy does not produce a simple hierarchy. Barou presses his own claim to the action while Rin and Isagi refuse to accept supporting roles. The volume therefore offers more than a substitution as a tactical adjustment: the people expected to solve the team's problem also create fresh friction within it. That is a useful reason to follow this particular stretch of the match. A collection of exceptional strikers still has to decide how its exceptional moments can coexist. The coach can introduce another option without gaining command of its appetite.
