Nagi and Reo stand on opposite sides of this main-series Blue Lock rival battle. Isagi's new group must find a way to make Barou fit alongside Isagi and Nagi, while Kunigami, Chigiri, and Reo provide the opposition. Check the title when buying for Nagi: Blue Lock: Episode Nagi is a separate prequel. This volume continues the main selection story and examines the practical difficulty of combining players who each expect to dictate play.

A team can contain strong players and still fail to connect them. Isagi and Nagi already have a working partnership, while Barou resists fitting into that arrangement. Reo's presence on the opposing side adds another reason to distinguish this book from the Nagi prequel, which centers the origins of Nagi's ambition through Reo. Here the immediate problem is how the current trio can function against a different trio. The recommendation depends on which story you want: an earlier relationship's beginning, or the main competition forcing established relationships into inconvenient formations. A shared character does not make the titles interchangeable.
