Asa and Denji's aquarium date gives their uneasy connection a specific place to develop. Choose this installment if that relationship is the part of the ongoing school story you want to follow. It is a numbered manga volume, rather than a separate romantic side story. Readers extending a box purchase should also check its endpoint: the first-eleven-volume collection does not include this later book.

The aquarium setting does not make the meeting innocent. VIZ says Asa wants to seduce Denji so she can turn him into a weapon, and also advertises interference from a devil. The resulting comparison is between two kinds of danger: an external attack and an intention concealed inside an apparently ordinary date. For a reader following the romance, those dangers make trust a more useful question than whether the setting seems romantic. Readers interested in the relationship should retain the possibility of instrumental use alongside the possibility of affection. A shared outing does not establish that both people arrived for the same purpose.
