Simon & Schuster's publisher description names the War Devil and the Death Devil as rival claims on Denji's judgment, with either faction capable of destroying the world. That makes choosing whom to believe the useful focus of the advertised premise. The prospect of a terrible outcome does not automatically identify a trustworthy adviser. Buy with that conflict of information in mind rather than assuming the familiar name identifies the safer choice. Denji must evaluate competing accounts while the consequences of choosing wrongly remain shared by everyone, including people with no part in making his decision.
