The battle with Lord Tensen continues as the escape effort strains its combatants in Hell's Paradise. This is a middle-of-conflict purchase, best kept next to Vol. 8 rather than chosen as a sample of the series. The combatants are already under severe physical pressure in VIZ's setup, so a fresh start is the wrong expectation. At 216 pages, it adds another standard volume to the ongoing escape struggle. Buy it to continue that struggle, not as the reason to begin the run.

VIZ singles out Aza Chobe and Gabimaru as the combatants with the strongest chance against the enemy while warning that success could carry a serious cost. The qualification is more useful than another claim about strength. An escape fight asks what condition a survivor will be in afterward, so greater capability does not automatically improve the bargain. This is the argument for keeping the neighboring books together when reading: the pressure belongs to an ongoing confrontation. It is also the limit of the buying pitch. A reader looking for a self-contained duel or a confirmed resolution should not infer either from the publisher's promise of difficult combat.
