Hunter x Hunter Volume 8 brings Gon home with Killua after the arena battles. The inspected contents list chapters 64 to 73. The opening turns from combat instruction to family life and plans for what comes next, while leaving the search for Ging active. Continue from the preceding standard book. The same story coverage is inside Omnibus 3, so buying that collected book alongside this single adds overlap rather than another part of Gon's journey.

Killua's lack of a goal is not cured by borrowing Gon's. Their conversation instead makes room for a temporary arrangement: they can travel together while Killua finds something he wants to do. Gon values the company because he has had little companionship with children his own age; Killua identifies him as his first friend. That reciprocity matters more than treating either boy as the other's permanent purpose. The discussion of Gon's biological mother supplies a limit to his curiosity about his parents. Mito's care already answers the question of whom he calls his mother, even while Ging remains someone to find. This reading covers only printed pages 7 to 19 of the licensed VIZ preview, not the later recorded message or auction events.
