Kaguya-sama volume 9 puts the social cost of reputation beside the student council's comic routine. The Sports Festival is among VIZ's advertised settings, and Yu's standing among his peers becomes a substantial reason to follow this part of the run. Buy it for the ensemble rather than expecting every conflict to belong to Kaguya and Miyuki. Reading in sequence matters here because a person's reputation is easier to understand after seeing how the group treats him.

VIZ identifies rumors about Yu as having consequences for both his personal life and his schoolwork. That is a different use of social perception from coyly making a crush jealous: an audience can damage someone who is not playing along. The distinction gives this volume a defensible reason to matter beyond a festival setting. Chika's training of Miyuki remains in the publisher's description, keeping ordinary inadequacy beside reputational harm. Treating both as embarrassment would flatten the difference. A skill deficit invites practice; a damaging story requires people willing to reconsider what they have accepted as true.
