Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin hardcovers
Twelve English hardcovers of Yoshikazu Yasuhiko’s The Origin retelling. Book 12 concludes this run and includes three short stories. Paperback numbering and screen adaptations are separate checks.
Origin hardcover 1
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin 1, Activation, opens with a color prologue about the inhabited colonies before introducing its individual protagonists. This hardcover is Yasuhiko's manga retelling, separate from the television series and the Origin anime. The inspected public library preview covers the prologue's first four visible story pages and the contents. It ends during the account of catastrophic warfare; the remaining prologue, Amuro's entry and the rest of the book remain unread.

The prologue first treats space colonies as homes. Its cross sections and city views accompany a description of people living there, having children and dying. The cylinders are a place for an ordinary human lifespan before they become objects in a war image. The next visible page puts Principality and Federation into a shared grammatical account of catastrophic killing, alongside combat machines and a damaged colony. This does not establish identical motives or equal responsibility for each act. It makes the loss of life the opening frame through which either army will have to be understood. Color connects the inhabited structures to their damaged counterparts without requiring a hero's presence to make their destruction matter. The inspected pages stop before the narration reaches an individual pilot, so they cannot establish his decisions or their outcome.
