Tomura's battle with Re-Destro continues the villains' struggle for dominance in My Hero Academia volume 25. The preceding volume supplies the clash between their organizations, so this is a continuation for readers already following that conflict. Keep the books together if that struggle is your reason for buying. A duel can occupy the foreground while its importance still depends on the competing groups and ambitions that brought the combatants into the same place.

The publisher links Tomura's present fight to his childhood encounter with All For One. That makes the battle a test of an influence as well as a contest for supremacy: the person fighting Re-Destro has a history of being reached by someone else's intervention. The city threatened by their struggle supplies an important limit to sympathy. Understanding how Tomura arrived here does not make the destruction around him incidental. Reading the confrontation with the preceding organizational conflict keeps both scales visible: the individual history and the damage produced when that history gains collective power.
