My Hero Academia’s fifth book starts with Bakugo facing Uraraka in the sports festival. The printed contents list chapters 36 to 44, although the book’s title foregrounds Shoto Todoroki’s origin. That title does not describe the opening contest or make this a fresh starting point. This note reads only the licensed preview’s printed pages 7 to 20, ending during Uraraka’s attempted counterattack. It does not establish the match result or treat the later contents titles as scenes already inspected.

The spectators see Uraraka repeatedly driven back and assume Bakugo is toying with a weaker girl. Aizawa challenges that reading: Bakugo’s caution recognizes a dangerous opponent rather than granting her an easy performance. The next pages reveal what the spectators have missed. Her low attacks keep his attention on the ground while his blasts create the debris she raises overhead. Uraraka has used the apparent repetition to prepare a different attack. That makes the booing consequential: the crowd’s protective judgment erases the plan she is working to execute. Yet the excerpt also names the strategy’s cost through Midoriya’s alarm at her self-sacrifice. Respecting her agency does not require pretending the risk is small, and her declaration that she will win remains an intention at the reading’s end.
