Three anime seasons touch this book. Chapters 310 to 319 close one stretch in their opening pair, bring Hidan and Kakuzu into the story in the third, and give the rest of their length to Kakashi putting Naruto through wind-nature training. Shippuden's season 2 ends at chapter 310, the first chapter here: its last episode, 53, is titled 'Title' after it. Season 3, episodes 54 to 71, opens on the nicknames of chapter 311. Season 4 picks up at chapter 312, the third chapter of this book. So a viewer arriving from season 2 starts at chapter 311 and a viewer arriving from season 3 starts at chapter 312. Viz lists 200 pages against the usual 192, at $11.99.

Two machines start at once. Kakashi puts Naruto on wind-nature training and then on the shadow-clone shortcut, which lets hundreds of copies return a year of practice in days: the series buys a power-up with a stated mechanism rather than a montage, and the mechanism gets reused. Meanwhile Hidan and Kakuzu come toward Konoha having already beaten Yugito Nii, host of the Two-Tails, which shows the Akatsuki working their list with no hero present to interfere, and Tsunade answers by fielding twenty squads of four. The seam is the part worth pricing before buying. Season 3 of Shippuden is eighteen episodes that adapt nothing past this book's second chapter. Several later Shippuden seasons look the same. A viewer deciding whether to keep watching or to start reading has the answer here.
