Saitama and Garo confront each other in One-Punch Man's continuing battle. The encounter brings the hero-hunter material into direct conflict with the lead, so this is a continuation of accumulated circumstances rather than an introduction to either character. Read it with Garo's preceding encounters in mind. The terms on which Saitama challenges him, and the response that changes their fight, belong in the spoiler note.

Saitama's appeal to Tareo's feelings gives the confrontation an alternative to a contest of force. The publisher then describes Garo intensifying his monsterization and obtaining extraordinary strength after hearing a being's voice when defeat seems near. That sequence suggests a refusal to accept the terms Saitama puts before him: another increase in power answers a challenge about someone else's feelings. The interpretation does not require naming the being or explaining an unseen system. This is a register change within the confrontation because its proposed moral limit and its new source of strength pull in opposite directions.
