Madoka Magica Vol. 1 starts Hanokage’s original adaptation, but its publisher description can send buyers toward the wrong format. The listing promotes an omnibus while the physical details still identify the separate first paperback. Choose this book if you want the original story in singles. If you want the whole story in one purchase, compare the separately titled Complete Omnibus Edition before ordering: the similar names conceal different amounts of reading.
Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.
This first single is not the reason to buy the run in separate books. The case for that format is a preference for smaller installments, not a promise of additional story. Yen Press lists each of the three singles at $13.00 and the original Complete Omnibus Edition at $24.00. Buying the singles at those list prices totals $39.00. That comparison concerns the original story only, and does not establish that extras or reproduction are identical. A misleading description should not turn a format choice into an accidental purchase of an incomplete story.
