Sakamoto Days continues the JCC transfer test with Shin in danger and Sakamoto coming to his aid. The route toward information about X has become a confrontation with Shinaya, who is controlled by Gaku. This is the test’s entanglement with the larger investigation, rather than a fresh school adventure. This is not the reason to buy the run if you want a single, self-contained examination story. The test is already tied to the search for X, and Gaku’s control of Shinaya introduces a separation between the opponent Sakamoto can confront and the person directing that opponent. A successful blow need not answer the investigative problem. That separation gives the rescue its particular complication: helping Shin is immediate, while reaching the source of the interference remains another task. The examination supplies the arena, but its official objective no longer describes everything happening inside it.
