The Shoyo encounter continues with Shohoku under pressure in Slam Dunk. Shoyo's Fujima enters the lineup, giving readers already following this contest another reason to keep the match together across consecutive paperbacks. It is not a clean first purchase for the series. Choose it with the preceding Shoyo volume if the appeal is how a team divides the work of recovery between shooting and rebounding under a shrinking clock.

Mitsui's scoring skill and Sakuragi's rebounds form the pairing emphasized by VIZ. Fatigue complicates that plan: knowing which player can do a job does not mean he can keep doing it indefinitely. The buying case is therefore tactical rather than simply celebratory. A scorer's limit can make another player's apparently secondary role decisive to the plan. This is a good continuation for someone following how Shohoku uses uneven abilities, but a weak standalone selection for someone expecting a complete explanation of those abilities. Keep the Shoyo setup attached.
