Shohoku's Nationals qualification depends on the Ryonan contest in this Slam Dunk volume. VIZ places the team barely ahead late in the game, so this is a continuation for buyers already collecting that encounter. Keep the preceding Ryonan books with it if the match is your focus. Its particular attraction is the defensive burden on Sakuragi, a different purchasing interest from choosing only the volumes centered on his ambition to score.
Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.
The publisher's setup includes Mitsui's collapse and Ryonan pressing with Uozumi, Fukuda and Sendoh. Sakuragi's defensive contribution matters within that depleted situation. The buying argument is for a match segment in which stopping the opponent can be as consequential as producing a basket. That is a useful corrective to selecting a basketball series only for its most obvious scoring promises. Read it in sequence so the fatigue and losses of capacity have their preceding causes. A narrow lead does not reduce the amount of work needed to preserve it.
