Henry and Martha's wartime separation makes this a historical purchase within Spy x Family. VIZ centers their unspoken feelings and the conflict between East and West rather than a new Forger assignment. Choose it for the cost the setting imposes on lives outside the central household. The appeal is a change of perspective on the same political world, so this is better approached through the ongoing series than bought as a substitute introduction to its family premise.

The war interrupts something that had not yet become a declared relationship. VIZ describes Henry and Martha separating without expressing their feelings, then places Martha in military service, surviving a battle in Westalis and trying to return to Ostania. That gives the historical turn a practical shape: private attachment does not decide where a person can travel or whether return is possible. For buyers interested in the supporting cast, the attraction is this collision between an unfinished conversation and physical displacement. A return home has a different meaning when the relationship waiting there was never agreed upon; the attraction is that unresolved personal obligation.
