Yor's cruise assignment puts her work at the center of this part of Spy x Family. VIZ sends her aboard as a bodyguard for a mafia family, while Loid and Anya have their own reason to be on the ship. This is the natural purchase for a reader wanting a sustained Yor-centered mission premise. Keep the following book in mind when planning the purchase: its publisher description remains aboard the same cruiser with Yor still on assignment.
Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.
The cruise compresses roles that are easier to keep apart on land. VIZ attributes Yor's assignment to Garden and says her family's presence accompanies doubts about her secret life. That is the argument for starting this stretch here rather than buying only the next book's advertised action: the work problem includes the difficulty of occupying incompatible roles in the same place. The setup also reverses a simple assumption about an assassin's assignment. Yor is tasked with protecting people. For a buyer interested in her professional obligations, that protective purpose is a more precise attraction than a generic promise of danger.
