To Your Eternity reaches its final volume with Fushi still facing the conflict over humanity's future. This is the ending to buy after the preceding books, rather than a detached conclusion that explains the run from scratch. The struggle with Kaibara and the Nokkers supplies the immediate context. Readers seeking the last numbered book can stop their inventory here; what the ending does with Fushi's continuing existence is a separate question from the length of the collection.

Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.

Fushi can inherit the Beholder's powers through the sphere, but his incapacitation lets the Nokkers seize it. With his friends captive and Kaibara threatening humanity, the doll remains able to act. That arrangement separates possession of extraordinary power from the immediate capacity to help. The last book therefore gives its crisis to a situation in which the most obvious source of power is unavailable. Its final-volume designation promises a stopping point for the published run. It does not, by itself, promise that an immortal character's life becomes a closed account.
