The publisher sets two dangers against each other. Most of the Lnu favor mobilizing against Arnheid Village, while Miskwekepu'j understands that further contact will spread the disease killing his people. The disagreement cannot be reduced to one side taking danger seriously and another ignoring it. They face different accounts of what action will make the danger worse. That is a sharper closing problem than asking whether anyone has good intentions. A plan to confront an armed threat can also create the contact through which another threat travels. This reading does not claim that disease makes every defensive choice equivalent, or that avoiding contact would settle the armed conflict. It identifies the limit on a single military answer in the advertised premise, without inventing a resolution to either danger.
