The effort to recover Riri brings Su-won's forces into the conflict with Sei. This paperback continues the abduction and rescue material, so it is best read with the preceding captivity rather than treated as a fresh expedition. The change is one of reach: rescuers now include an army as well as Yona's companions. Keep the personal and military sides together when choosing this stretch of the run.
Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.
Su-won attacks Sei fortresses after hearing of Riri's abduction, while Riri draws troops away from Yona in a forest. The paired actions make the rescue more complicated than helpless captives waiting for stronger people to arrive. Riri acts to protect someone else while still facing capture and execution herself. Su-won's military intervention does not erase that smaller decision. The volume's value within the rescue sequence lies in holding both scales in view: an army can pressure a territory, but the person being pursued still has choices to make on the ground.
