Yona and Hak seek a priest who can see the future in the third paperback. Their journey makes the search for direction literal: escaping danger has left them without a clear plan for what follows. This is the book to choose for Yun and Ik-su's introduction, with the circumstances of that meeting kept in the spoiler note. Read it after the refuge in Hak's hometown rather than as a separate adventure.

Yun and Ik-su enter through care rather than a demonstration of prophecy. They nurse Yona and Hak after a fall from a cliff leaves the travelers badly injured; the guardian who helps them also turns out to be the priest they were seeking. That order matters to the premise. The need for immediate help comes before any answer about destiny. Yona then tells Ik-su that she wants to protect the people precious to her. Her stated goal concerns keeping others alive, not simply obtaining a prediction about herself.
