Alexis has just explained that Crowler wants her and Atticus to become a singing duo. His defense of the plan answers a question she has not asked: what each party might receive. It never establishes that she wants the arrangement. The slogan is less clever than the surrounding scene. Alexis asks for help, Chazz imagines her in a dress, and Bastion offers an insult about her singing. Crowler's tidy bargain belongs to a conversation that keeps finding substitutes for listening to her. Calling the proposal mutually beneficial does no argumentative work until the proposed beneficiaries can define the benefit. A dress is an especially weak answer to that omission. The line deserves little credit as wit; its value is the ease with which it exposes a person mistaking a sales pitch for agreement.
