The Ginyu Force arrives boasting about its poses and announcing plans to take over the planet. Yamcha and Tien have ample reason to find the visitors ridiculous. Recoome nevertheless interrupts the enthusiasm with a sensible precaution, and Jeice accepts it. The instruction he recalls treats ability as something exercised under conditions, rather than a possession that must work identically everywhere. Giving Recoome credit for remembering it does not endorse the conquest he hopes it will enable, or prove that the test will save the group. It identifies a competent moment inside an otherwise inflated presentation. The contrast is funnier and more exact than simply calling the whole force stupid: the man participating in the grand entrance is also the one who remembers that arriving somewhere unfamiliar is a reason to check before assuming.
