Watch season 1, then Blue Lock the Movie: Episode Nagi, then season 2, Blue Lock vs. U-20 Japan. That is release order, and it is the order we recommend. The film is a spinoff about Seishiro Nagi rather than a step in the main story, so it is the one entry you can skip. A third season, Neo Egoist League, has been announced but has no premiere date yet.

Season 1

The first season premiered on October 8, 2022, and ran 24 episodes on TV Asahi's NUMAnimation block, according to Anime News Network's episode list and its report on the second season's cast. ANN's March 2023 report records the 24th and final episode closing with the announcement that a second season and a film had both been green-lit. Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired, with an English dub.

Where Episode Nagi fits

The film adapts Kota Sannomiya's Blue Lock: Episode Nagi spinoff manga, which, in ANN's description, focuses on Nagi before he enters the Blue Lock facility. It opened in Japan on April 19, 2024, and Crunchyroll, which acquired the North American theatrical rights, opened it in North American theaters on June 28, 2024. Crunchyroll began streaming it on October 17, 2024.

Its subject is a prequel, but we would still watch it after season 1. It was announced at the end of that season and released between the two seasons, and it is a story about one player whom season 1 introduces alongside everyone else. ANN's encyclopedia files it as a spinoff of the television series rather than a sequel, which is why we treat it as optional: season 2 continues the television numbering from episode 25.

Season 2: Blue Lock vs. U-20 Japan

The second season's subtitle is its premise. The staff's August 2024 announcement says it "will focus on the match between BLUE LOCK and the U-20 National Japan team, in which the survival of the BLUE LOCK project is at stake." It debuted on October 5, 2024, in TV Asahi's new IM Animation block, and ANN's episode list numbers it as episodes 25 to 38, with the finale, "Last Attack," dated December 28, 2024.

What comes next

On June 9, 2026, Blue Lock Day, the staff revealed the third season's title, Blue Lock: Neo Egoist League, with a visual. That report gives no broadcast date, and the official anime site, checked October 14, 2026, shows the season's title and visual but no premiere date. Treat any date you see elsewhere as unconfirmed until it appears there.

The same ANN report notes a separate live-action film. It is not part of the anime sequence, and nothing above depends on it.

If you want to keep going in the manga

Kodansha publishes both the main series and Episode Nagi in English, numbered separately. The Blue Lock catalog lists the English paperbacks with ISBNs and release dates. For the players behind the matches, start with our reading of Isagi's ambition, which contains spoilers.
