Haikyu!! Manga Buying Guide: Singles or the 3-in-1 Edition
Haikyu!! is complete in 45 VIZ paperbacks. The 3-in-1 Edition saves money per volume but its announced books stop at Vol. 36.
Start Haikyu!! with standard Vol. 1 to try one book, or with the first 3-in-1 Edition book, which collects Vols. 1 to 3, for a larger first purchase. The story is complete in 45 standard paperbacks. The 3-in-1 Edition has not caught up: ten books are out, two more are announced, and those twelve reach Vol. 36.

VIZ's pages, checked October 14, 2026, give the same 5 × 7½ inch trim for both formats. The 3-in-1 book is thicker, not larger. Prices are publisher list prices, not a shop's current offer.
What the 3-in-1 Edition saves, and what it does not cover
At list price, standard Vols. 1, 2 and 3 cost $11.99 each on VIZ's pages, $35.97 together, against $16.99 for the 3-in-1 book that collects them. Not every single is $11.99: VIZ lists Vol. 12 and Vol. 33 at $9.99, so compare the particular books you need rather than multiplying one price.
The omnibus line stops short of the ending for now. Ten 3-in-1 books are released, covering standard Vols. 1 to 30. Book 11 is a preorder for December 15, 2026, and Book 12, which Barnes & Noble's preorder listing (checked October 14, 2026) subtitles "Includes vols. 34, 35 & 36," is announced for March 16, 2027. No 3-in-1 book collecting Vols. 37 to 45 appears in the inventory we checked. Someone who wants the whole story in one format today needs the standard paperbacks.
Mixing formats without buying a book twice
The formats can be combined, because the 3-in-1 books follow the standard numbering in groups of three. A reader who buys the ten released 3-in-1 books continues with standard Vol. 31. A reader who owns standard Vols. 1 to 4 and switches to 3-in-1 would repeat Vols. 1 to 3 with Book 1 and Vol. 4 with Book 2; switching at a multiple of three (after Vol. 3, 6, 9 and so on) avoids the overlap. Check which numbers a used omnibus covers before counting it toward a gap.
Where the anime leaves you
Season 4 of the anime ends just after Karasuno's match against Inarizaki, whose final points VIZ's synopsis places in Vol. 33. The film HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle covers the Nekoma match that VIZ's Vol. 37 synopsis brings to an end. For the order of the seasons and films, see the Haikyu!! watch order. If you are starting from the anime and only want what it has not covered, 3-in-1 Book 11 (Vols. 31 to 33) overlaps the end of season 4, and the standard singles from Vol. 33 on are the cleaner route.
Check the numbered collection
The Haikyu!! catalog lists all 45 standard paperbacks and every 3-in-1 book with ISBNs and dates, and keeps announced books separate from released ones. Vol. 45 is the final standard volume. Match the ISBN, not the cover, when buying from a reseller.
