Chapters 10 to 13, plus a side story called Captain Levi that sits outside the chapter numbering. This is the middle of one continuous battle, and it is the clearest case in the early run for reading collected rather than one book at a time: the plan to plug the wall is set up here and paid off in Vol. 4, so the book neither opens nor closes anything. At 208 pages it is one of three volumes at that length; everything else in the story run is 192 or, in the case of the finale, longer. Season 1 covers chapters 1 to 34, so the anime has been through all of this. A reader who has not started yet is better served by Omnibus 1, which runs chapters 1 to 13 and therefore ends exactly where this book does.

The military argument over whether to kill Eren or use him occupies most of the volume, and it is the series stating early that its institutions are not competent and not entirely honest. The boulder plan is Armin's, which matters because the series keeps giving him the decisions rather than the fights. Eren then loses control in his Titan form and attacks Mikasa, which is the first evidence that the power is not obedient to him. The Captain Levi side story printed here is not one of the 139 numbered chapters; Wikipedia's chapter list carries it separately, and a reader counting chapters against a digital edition should expect the discrepancy.
