Final Season Part 2 ep. 76–87

Chapters 123 to 126 are where the cast changes sides. The Survey Corps spends the book assembling an alliance out of the people it spent twenty volumes fighting, including one who has been off the board since Vol. 8. Eren is the enemy from here to the end, and nobody in the book pretends otherwise. The Final Season part 2 covers chapters 117 to 130, so a viewer has seen it. Colossal Edition 7 and Omnibus 11 both start at this volume, the last of the three points in the run where those two editions cut together.

Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.

Annie's return is the longest-held card in the series. She has been immobile since Vol. 8 and unaccounted for across twenty-two volumes, and she comes back with no interest in any of the arguments: her stated goal is to reach her father. That is the volume's method with every defector. Reiner, Pieck and Annie all join for reasons that are personal and small, and the series treats that as more credible than conversion. Connie carrying Falco to Ragako to feed him to his own mother is the other measure of how far this cast has traveled. Armin talks him out of it by offering himself instead. The Japanese volume shipped on 9 April 2020.
