Final Season Part 3 (The Final Chapters) ep. 88–94

Chapters 131 to 134, and the volume where the genocide is on the page rather than implied. The Rumbling crosses the continent, the alliance gets a plane off the ground and is charged for it, the Survey Corps changes commander, and Eren tells his friends through the paths that they are free to kill him. It is one continuous sequence and it does not conclude. The anime's final chapters cover chapters 131 to 139, starting with this book. Omnibus 12 begins here with Vols. 33 and 34 at $17.99, which is the entire ending for less than two singles.

Chapter 131 carries this site's Eren line about being disappointed by what he found outside the walls, and the chapter exists to set his reason beside its result. The Rumbling is drawn as crowds rather than as spectacle, and Ramzi, the boy the Scouts rescued in the flashback that closes Vol. 32, dies in its opening pages. The order is the argument the whole ending rests on: the mercy is shown first and the killing second, so that no reader gets to hold only one of them. Hange's death promotes Armin, which is the last piece of machinery the finale needs in place. The Japanese volume shipped on 8 January 2021.
