Denji and Nayuta are in danger as the Chainsaw Man Church's actions disrupt the world around them. This is a continuation for readers already invested in the people caught inside that disruption. A purchase based only on the scale of the emergency misses its more specific appeal: the Church's activity now has consequences for particular lives. Read the preceding institutional conflict before treating this as an isolated rescue adventure.

A rescue requires more than recognizing that somebody is in danger. In VIZ's synopsis, Asa and Fami intervene but need additional help to have a chance of succeeding. That gives the volume a useful shift in emphasis: intentions must become a group capable of acting. The editorial interest is the gap between wanting someone saved and possessing the means to save them, with recruitment making that gap concrete. It would be premature to promise a clean rescue ending from this premise. The buying role is to follow the response to an emergency whose causes precede this book.
