Dragon Ball Super 16 introduces Granolah's grievance against the Saiyans and Freeza's army, rooted in the destruction of his people. VIZ describes him as the last Cerealian, placing a survivor's desire for revenge at the center of this new conflict. This gives a continuing reader a different point of entry into the action: a new person's account of an old enemy. It is not a recommendation to begin the entire Super manga here. The spoiler note considers the publisher's stated setup, without claiming a reading of the interior pages.

Granolah's wish and the Heeters' plan make revenge useful to people other than the person seeking it. VIZ describes him stealing a Dragon Ball and wishing to become the universe's strongest being. It then identifies the Heeters working to have Goku and Vegeta eliminate him. The gain he seeks is therefore not the same as control over the circumstances in which he will use it. He can pursue a grievance while other people arrange who will face him. That is the tension offered by the publisher's synopsis, not a verdict on how the confrontation eventually resolves. Increased strength can make Granolah a more formidable participant without making him the author of the conflict around him.
