Fairy Tail Volume 10 opens with a resort invitation after Loke's crisis. Chapters 75–82 follow the preceding standard book, and the first chapter briefly gives the guild members room to enjoy themselves. The bounded licensed reading below examines that holiday's first day and Erza's difficulty resting; later Tower of Heaven developments remain outside the checked passage. The contents also separately lists a side story. Fairy Tail Box Set 1 already includes this standard volume.

A holiday offers Erza freedom without making relaxation automatic. The beach lets her play with the others, and she calls the day enjoyable. Then a dream returns her to a childhood prison, where the assertion that freedom does not exist interrupts the resort's easy mood. After waking, she puts her armor back on because it makes her feel more at ease. The sequence gives her protection two different jobs: equipment for danger and something she chooses when danger is absent. Her harsh judgment of herself is her own response, not a diagnosis supplied by the narrator. Lucy's invitation to the casino creates another small choice. Erza changes into a gown and decides to indulge herself. The opening makes rest a series of decisions, including decisions that do not resemble anyone else's idea of a holiday.
