Readers finishing the Nekoma match reach its closing stretch in Haikyu Volume 37. VIZ places Kenma in repeated rallies while the national-stage Dumpster Battle approaches its end. This is the volume to choose after following that rivalry through the preceding match books. The purchase is tied to closing an established contest, so its significance depends on the meeting already mattering before the remaining points are played.

VIZ describes Kenma wanting the game to continue even though a match must end. That creates a useful contradiction between enjoying the activity and pursuing the result that stops it. The same synopsis points ahead to Bokuto facing Kiryu, preventing the tournament from becoming identical with Karasuno's rivalry. For a buyer, the book combines the closing stretch of one investment with a look toward another team's next problem. Its value is the transition between those demands. Finishing a long-awaited meeting does not give the rest of the tournament permission to stop.
