The Inter-High qualifiers bring urgency to Karasuno's unfinished teamwork in Haikyu Volume 5. VIZ describes losses to Nekoma and a difficult qualifier block, with Date Tech looming over Asahi. This is a continuation purchase for readers following the team's preparation, not the reason to buy the run on its own. The attraction is the change in conditions: weaknesses discovered in practice now have to be carried into a competition schedule.

VIZ connects Karasuno's uneven teamwork with Asahi's fear of Date Tech. Those are different kinds of unfinished business: one belongs to the team's coordination, while the other is attached to a particular opponent. Putting them in the same qualifier route gives the volume a concrete buying role for readers interested in Asahi. The matchup has meaning beyond a name on a bracket. It also argues against treating training losses as harmless simply because they were unofficial. The weaknesses travel with the team into the next setting.
