Haikyu Volume 6 continues Karasuno's Inter-High qualifier route after the early practice games. The tournament gives familiar opponents a different significance: an earlier result supplies experience, but cannot decide another contest in advance. Keep this paperback with the preceding qualifier volume if you want the transition from preparation to competition intact. Kageyama's history with Oikawa gives this part of the run an additional reason to matter beyond progress through a bracket.

A practice victory can be a poor buying shortcut. VIZ explicitly sets up the rematch by asking whether Karasuno can repeat that result in an official game, with Oikawa confronting Kageyama again. The distinction is the volume's useful pressure point. Familiarity supplies expectations on both sides, and expectations are not a score. Readers interested in Kageyama's history with Oikawa have a stronger reason to collect this stretch in order than to select a later dramatic moment. The rematch needs the memory of the first meeting to do its work.
