Chapters 255 to 263, and the volume that answers a question nobody had thought to ask. A flashback in the middle of the Shinjuku fight explains what Yuji is, and the explanation reaches back to Vol. 1 and rewrites it. The fight itself is at its worst point for the sorcerers when it lands. Season 3 does not reach this book. In Japan this volume and Vol. 30 were published on the same day, 25 December 2024, as the series' conclusion; Viz split them across three months, so the English run ends on 12 May 2026, sixteen months after the Japanese one. Viz lists it at $11.99.

Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.

Sukuna tells Uraume that Yuji is Kenjaku's son, and that Jin Itadori is the reincarnation of the twin brother Sukuna ate in the womb. The series has run for 255 chapters on a protagonist described as an ordinary boy with unusual strength, and the answer turns out to have been in his surname and his grandfather's deathbed instruction in chapter 1. Whether that is a plant or a retrofit is the argument readers have about the ending, and the text supports both. Choso dies for Yuji in the same volume, having fought Yuji as an enemy in Vol. 12 and revealed as a brother in Vol. 16. Earlier in the volume Yuji lands a Black Flash, the technique Todo taught him in Vol. 6, and comes into his full strength on the second-to-last volume. Akutami paid that setup off across twenty-three books.
