Chapters 246 to 254, and the middle of the Shinjuku fight. It kills the series' longest-running antagonist, brings the protagonist of Vol. 0 into the main fight at last, and ends inside an exchange rather than after one. At 200 pages it is longer than the standard 192. Season 3 does not reach it, and season 4 has no broadcast date. This is not a volume to buy alone: Vols. 25 to 30 are one battle with one outcome, and the only chapter break that means anything in them is the end of Vol. 26.
Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.
Kenjaku dies here, killed off-page in terms of ceremony, having been the actual antagonist since the diner scene in Vol. 2 and the mover of every event from Shibuya onward. Yuta Okkotsu then enters the fight against Sukuna using copied techniques, which is the moment Vol. 0 stops being a prequel a reader can skip and becomes required reading, twenty-eight volumes after it was published. Higuruma is also here, and is Cleaved, and the sword he leaves behind matters. What the volume is doing underneath the fighting is assembling the ending: Yuji develops a reverse cursed technique of his own, and the soul punches he has been throwing since Vol. 4 are established as a way of reaching Megumi rather than of damaging Sukuna. The last two books are built entirely out of parts laid down here.
