Mashle reaches the closing stretch of the Magia Lupus conflict, with Mash and his friends separated against individual opponents. The Lang Dorm group has been stealing other students' magic, so these encounters are about more than school ranking. This is the volume for following that confrontation through to its leadership, rather than beginning the dorm rivalry from scratch. Keep the preceding book alongside it: the divided group is already inside a conflict whose grievances have accumulated.

Splitting the group matters because Mash's physical answer to magic cannot simply stand in for everyone else's ability. VIZ singles out Dot's difficulty against Love and the new power he releases under pressure, while Abel waits for Mash. The structure gives the supporting fighter a problem that belongs to him before returning to the leader's confrontation. The next volume begins after the Magia Lupus defeat, making this a useful stopping point for that particular conflict. It is a local conclusion, though: defeating a dorm faction does not settle the society's larger judgment of someone without magic.
