Editions and box sets

Check the named run as well as the book number; these collections can cover different parts of the story. Each edition has a page listing every book in it, with its ISBN and release date.

Which edition to buy

Kodansha's Collector's Edition is a hardcover omnibus line with a new translation and lettering. The listed books collect Japanese volumes 1–2, 3–4, 5–6, 7–8 and 9–10 respectively; Vol. 5 also lists the special chapter Hihamukage. Check the release dates before treating all five as published. Del Rey published an earlier paperback edition, but its historical catalog is not evidence of stock today. Kodansha's separate eight-book digital listing is not the hardcover checklist.

Compare the first numbered book in each edition below. A later box set is not a starting point for the story. List prices are publisher prices in US dollars, not current shop offers.
