Chapters 360 to 369 finish a fight that began three chapters from the end of the previous book, which is the argument for owning the two together. Deidara has spent a book and a half escalating against Sasuke and runs out of escalations in the first four chapters here. The remaining six change subject entirely: Sasuke arranges the meeting with Itachi, Akatsuki assigns the capture of Naruto, and Jiraiya walks into Amegakure alone. Shippuden season 6 covers chapters 343 to 411, so the whole book is adapted and no season boundary falls inside it. Box Set 2 holds volumes 28 to 48, which Viz states outright, and its $224.99 is against $251.79 for the same twenty-one volumes bought singly.

The visible half is the bomb: Deidara turns himself into his last technique and Sasuke lives by feeding Manda to it. The half that reorganizes the series is quieter. Tobi walks out of the same blast, declares himself Madara Uchiha and the true head of Akatsuki, and hands Pain the job of capturing Naruto. A story that has run on named opponents arriving one at a time now has a figure standing behind all of them, introduced in the same chapters that dispose of one of them. The back third is titled plainly for what it does: 'Brothers', 'Itachi and Sasuke', 'Intel', 'Regarding Pain'. Jiraiya's move on Amegakure at the close is the thread the next two volumes follow, and it is why this book is not a clean stop despite finishing a fight.
