An anime boundary falls three chapters into this book, which is close to the worst place it could fall for a reader buying from where they stopped. Shippuden season 17 ends at chapter 630, the third of the ten chapters here, and season 18 opens at chapter 631, the fourth. A viewer who finished episode 372 is therefore paying full price for a book whose first three chapters they have already watched. Chapters 628 to 637 take Kakashi and Obito into the Kamui dimension for a fight with almost no ninjutsu in it, while the Alliance, Sasuke and the reanimated Hokage try to keep the Ten-Tails from leaving the battlefield. Viz lists 192 pages at $11.99, and the volume sits inside Box Set 3.

Kakashi and Obito settle it between themselves. They fight hand to hand in the Kamui dimension with the war paused outside, and Kakashi lands the mortal wound once Obito is back on the battlefield, so a fight running since chapter 599 finishes between two men who were on the same squad. Then the book takes it back. Madara tries to make Obito revive him, Obito refuses, and instead seals the Ten-Tails into himself and becomes its host, which is the position chapter 637 ends on and Vol. 67 opens on. This is also where Sasuke rejoins his old team on the same side, chapter 631 being titled 'Cell Number 7', and where the reanimated Hokage arrive as combatants rather than as witnesses. Three things are running at different speeds in ten chapters, and the anime boundary at chapter 630 cuts across all of them.
