Tokyo Ghoul reaches the last volume of its original run with the Anteiku battle still demanding an answer. Buy this after the preceding paperback, not as a standalone ending sample. The closing position tells a collector which gap this book fills, but it does not make the conflict self-contained. Its immediate context is the operation already under way, and the reasons to care about its participants come from the earlier run.
Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.
VIZ places Kaneki against Arima while other investigators attack Yoshimura, then describes the One-Eyed Owl's arrival changing the battle. That division of attention matters to the purchase: the final book is carrying several confrontations, so approaching it solely as one opponent's defeat would narrow what its premise offers. The publisher labels this the final volume of Tokyo Ghoul, which establishes its place on the shelf without guaranteeing a comforting resolution. Completing a numbered run and receiving reassurance are different expectations. Buy for the former; do not infer the latter from the final spine number.
