Witch Hat Atelier brings Ininia into Coco and Tartah’s encounter with Custas during Silver Eve. Continue here for the pressure surrounding participation in the procession, with the festival’s earlier setup already in place. This is a poor starting purchase for someone drawn only by the promise of a magical celebration: the important business is a demand made within relationships the preceding books have already established.

Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.

Ininia’s introduction comes with a compulsory promise: Coco and Tartah must participate in the procession and need a new spell quickly. Her loyalty to a Brimmed Cap gives that demand a source beyond ordinary festival ambition. Coco also cannot turn freely to Qifrey or her friends, which makes the apparent public opportunity a private burden. The reason to continue is this loss of choice inside an event that seems to invite participation. Ininia matters immediately because her arrival changes what Coco is being asked to do and how much help she can seek.
