Zeno's decision about the Dragon Warriors makes their shared future the central problem. This paperback follows the crisis around the missing and transformed companions, so it should be approached after those events. The change is from searching for members of the group to confronting a choice made within it. Details of that choice are kept in the spoiler note because they alter the meaning of what Yona and Hak are trying to prevent.
Spoilers — why this volume matters. Tap to reveal.
Zeno has sealed the other Dragons inside the Chalice of the Four Dragons' Blood and tells Yona and Hak that he wants to return them to the heavens and end his own life. The conflict now concerns incompatible purposes within a bond the story has spent time establishing. Preserving the group and respecting what one member says he wants are not automatically the same task. That does not resolve what Yona should do. It explains why treating Zeno as merely another obstacle would miss the personal demand contained in his decision.
