“Why do you loathe what I've done so much? Saiyans are just as ruthless as I am! They were killers, all of them! And you have the gall to condemn what I've done. You and your bloodthirsty race!”

He has a case, and the series knows it. The Saiyans who came to Earth were in the business of clearing planets and selling them, and a flashback in this very arc has Vegeta reporting to Frieza that planet Shikk pledged loyalty after three days. Goku's reply is "They paid for their mistakes!", which concedes the premise and argues only about the bill. Frieza's rejoinder is the best line in the fight: "Is that why they died? I thought it was because I killed them!" The steelman stands. Goku has no answer on the merits and the show gives him none; it gives him a louder punch. The reply that works is not about the Saiyans at all. Goku has just listed Vegeta, Piccolo and Krillin, and his anger is about three people Frieza hurt in front of him, not a race's record. Frieza keeps trying to move the argument to history, where he wins, and Goku keeps it in the present, where he does not.

“Let me give you a piece of advice. He who acquires his skills quickly, is he who is the first to perish.”

Frieza, Dragon Ball Z Source / locator: English, as transcribed on Wikiquote's Dragon Ball Z: Season 4 page, episode 4.13 "Another Super Saiyan?" (overall episode 120). Excerpt of a longer line that opens "Hmmm. He is at that. I'll tell you what kid." Wikiquote · Transcription

Proverb-shaped, and wrong in every direction available to it. The boy he is lecturing, the unnamed youth who has just arrived to meet him on Earth, did not acquire anything quickly; he is about to reveal himself as another Super Saiyan and cut Frieza apart before Goku's ship lands. The speaker is the worse problem. Frieza was born at the top, and Dragon Ball Super later makes a plot point of him training for the first time in his life. Few in this franchise had power arrive with less effort, so the advice is a warning against himself delivered by the man it describes. The line is quoted as a menacing bit of villain wisdom. In the scene it is setup for a punchline, and a beat later Trunks answers it with "Know your enemy!", the better piece of advice and the one Frieza fails to take.
